The handwritten, daily changing menus need little explanation, as long as you’re well-versed in bourgeois favourites, and you can’t go wrong with the classics here: mussels and scallops in saffron sauce; homemade foie gras terrine; roasted turbot with hollandaise sauce; rack of lamb with whole garlic; pan-fried magret of duck finished with cassis sauce.

Now to the main course: I have to say I did enjoy the fish that was available although it was not what I had ordered, however my friend ordered baby lamb chops and found them very tough, at this point we were all fed up with the service and the attitude in the restaurant, when the plates were collected one of our party drew the waitress’s attention to the lamb that was left on the plate, the Patron came back with a message that the chef said it was very nice!

The food and service were simply amazing.We had a really lovely cosy evening with really excellent foodReally lovely local restaurant. Transpired that they only started being open on Sundays. A real neighbourhood gem.Sadly we received a text message from the restaurant manager cancelling our reservation 97 minutes (!!)

Basically a good surprise to discover.Perfect ‘local’ restaurant- very authentic French restaurant. So if you wanted to enjoy a glass of wine between courses. The only thing I would say is that there wasn’t much time between finishing starters and the main was out in no time at all. Really tasty hotel restaurant, with reasonably priced menu options.
