The hotel in Canico really was less than 20 minutes from the airport and around the same into Funchal . Towels and bedding are changed on request, but rooms are cleaned every day. Services include massages and body treatments. The Rui Palace Madeira is a good hotel for a relaxing break - we feel more suited to those wanting peace and quiet. We used the free bus about 4 times and worked out if you took the 930am bus and returned on the 230pm bus you got back in time for lunch which was served until 330pm when we were there.
