Great uni, could do with some better facilities, depends on your course. It has been a great experience doing my computing, engineering and science foundation year at the uni. The Student shop is incredible- I swear I got a hot chocolate and muffin from there every day. Willing to care for those that need it. With circa 20,000 students in a town of 150,00, it is well and truly built on student living - bars, clubs, food galore. The social events from the societies and the union are great. I never joined any clubs or societies, but I did use the onsite gym- they had some amazing classes available and the gym was fully equipped with all the standard machines and equipment youd expect and membership was incredibly affordable. The help and gudiedess from tutors was always their when needed. There is a club from everyone so if your first year I would deffo recommend signing up to one. Ive been studying Air Transport and Logistics Management for 3 years and it has been the most unorganised course I have ever been on! I haven't really got involved with many societies due to the work load however Huddersfield has a lot of societies that are always taking on and the student union are always running events too!
